Thanks to everyone who signs our guest book.
This will be our 4th year and we have a great lineup of entertainers as well as arts and crafts vendors. Join us on the beautiful Athens State University campus for a day of toe tapping fun. We have moved everything under the beautiful shade trees this year. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the day. |

We are working on a new website honoring all country/bluegrass artists from way back thru today, 'Roots of Country Music'. In researching the artists, the Delmore Brothers came up! What wonderful, wonderful music they made! I have thoroughly enjoyed researching their history and listening to their great music! I love the fact that you are honoring them with the 'Delmore Days'! Our site is titled, Roots of Country Music: www.rootsofcountrymusic.net Thanks for keeping their memory alive! Sharon Stewart www.reddstewart.com |

| Quite by accident I ran across this web site and I am so glad I did. I am Wayne Raney's oldest daughter and I remember as a small child my Dad and the Delmore Bros. recording, writing songs together and traveling every where to bring their special music to people across the country. Our families traveled together and in some cases we even lived together. Dad's harmonica and voice is heard in a lot of the Delmore recordings. I love all the songs. | |||

| As a young soldier coming to Huntsville, Alabama in 59 and being a great fan of country music and being a guitar picker myself, it was a great honor to meet Alton. I remember the first time that I met him at my friend's house in West Lawn, West Huntsville in which we played a little together and I listened a lot. I believe the first song that he played at that meeting was "Blues Stay Away From Me". I love that song and plan on showcasing it at the Texas Steel Guitar Association (TSGA) Jamboree in March of 2011. All the Delmores I have met are in-deed fantastic people, specially Debbie. | |||

Hello, i grew up listening to the Delmore Brothers music. My late father(Joe Rice, aka shorty) and Debbie would tell me all about them and play there music, good times and stories. I am going to try to attend this year and i hope the whole community comes out for good family fun. Joe Rice |

My dad and son are the Pine Chapel String Band. Dad is 54 years older than my son, his grandson. They have been practicing together every week-end and during the week day in Mentone, Alabama. I grew up listening to this music. There were 7 brothers in my dad's family and most played musical instruments and sang. Dad and his brother Otha were the Emert Brothers and played everywhere from The Museum of Appalacia to Wolftrap. After my uncle died, Dad and nephew George formed The Birds Creek Boys out in Seattle. Anyway, my son became interested in the music and when his grandpa moved back South, they began playing together. Dad was also the lead guitarist (tenor guitar) in Smoke on the Mountain. Gotta brag on these two. Really looking forward to June 26th. |

| I just found out today that my papaw, William Burns, from Habersham, TN (Rich Mountain) used to play with the Delmore Brothers on the Opry. He passed away in 1940. Can you tell me anything about him? Any history? | |||
